Family Child Care Home Standards

Basic Participation Criteria (to be eligible to apply)

Program must have been in operation for at least 1 year (licensed for over 1 year).
Program must meet the ELC Child Safety Licensing Policy: May not have one (1) Class I licensing violation or more than three (3) Class II licensing violations of the same substandard in the past 12 months.
Program cannot have a probationary license.

1 Requirements for Assistants will only be counted if there is an Assistant employed.
2 Licensing timeframe is one year from date of start within the field.

4 CEU = Continuing Education Units certified by a Regionally Accredited University/College or IACET (International Association Continuing Education and Training).
5 Trainings submitted at each renewal must be at least 0.4 CEUs each and cannot be a repeat of the same training taken the prior renewal period.

If an infant is present, there are no more than 20 cumulative minutes that each infant is not provided opportunity for engagement.  Engagement refers to intentional learning opportunities provided through developmentally appropriate interactions with people and/or materials.
